Non-profit Hospitality Action receives the first Chick‑fil‑A True Inspiration Awards grant in the United Kingdom
As Chick‑fil‑A® prepares to open its first franchised Restaurants in the United Kingdom in 2025, we’re not just bringing our delicious chicken sandwiches and signature hospitality across the pond – we’re also extending our dedication to caring for local communities.
This year, that commitment came to life as we awarded the first Chick‑fil‑A True Inspiration Awards™ grant in the United Kingdom to Hospitality Action – a non-profit focused on providing support and resources to workers in the UK’s hospitality sector.
Supporting those in the service industry
Through the £100,000 grant from Chick‑fil‑A, Hospitality Action will be able to further its work to provide crucial assistance to individuals facing unexpected hardship, from illness and injury to financial difficulties and family crises.
A few highlights of their impact since 2020 demonstrate the true breadth of their efforts:
- 12,500+ grants awarded
- 30,000 calls answered via their 24-hour helpline
- 8,775 counseling sessions delivered
- 200,000 employees and their families protected by their Employee Assistance Programme
“Hospitality Action’s work resonates deeply with Chick‑fil‑A’s commitment to caring for people,” shares Joanna Symonds, Head of UK Operations for Chick‑fil‑A. “As we grow within the UK community, we want to support those who make the hospitality industry so special.”
Mark Lewis, CEO of Hospitality Action, expressed his gratitude, saying, “This generous grant from Chick‑fil‑A will significantly enhance our ability to support hospitality workers in their time of need. We’re honoured by this recognition and are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with Chick‑fil‑A as they join us in serving the UK.”
Making a global impact
Hospitality Action was one of 56 non-profit grant recipients for the 2025 Chick‑fil‑A True Inspiration Awards programme, a philanthropic initiative that honours the legacy of Chick‑fil‑A founder S. Truett Cathy. This year, the program awarded £4.7 million in funding, bringing the company’s collective contribution to over £26.5 million donated through the program since its inception in 2015.
A shared commitment to community
Our partnership with Hospitality Action is just the beginning of our journey in the UK. We’re not just building restaurants; we’re building relationships and investing in the communities we serve.
As we embark on this new chapter in the UK, we’re thrilled to support this non-profit that shares our dedication to caring for people. Learn more about our True Inspiration Awards programme and discover how we’re making a difference around the world at https://www.chick-fil-a.co.uk/global-impact/.
